Prague, and Bohemia, are known for beer. The most well-known is probably Budvar, which is sometimes called by its German name, Budweiser (no relation to the American Budweiser, as your first sip will tell). There is also Pilsner Urquel, Gambrinus, Radegast, Velkopopovicky kozel, and Staropramen, and there are any number of smaller name beers available in beer halls throughout the city and region. Some made on the premises, some in larger breweries. All made from hops grown in the area. The Czech word for beer is pivo.
To know which is your favorite, you’d have to have visited the city and tasted quite a few. But if you’ve had the experience, tell us which one quenches your thirst!
Mine is pictured above :)

Haven’t been to Prague to sample them, although I hope to address that lapse…
Having sampled a few Czech beers (we have a pretty healthy respect for beer in the UK, and that extends to imported ((good)) beer), I have to admit to being pretty partial to the Staropramen.
If my plans for Prague come off, I’ll report back!
