Markéta Hlinovská (b. Prague, 1978) completed her studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague in 2008. She supplemented her schooling by study visits at the Ecole Supérieure des Beaux Arts in Dijon, France. The artist, whose work betrays both a keen sense of humor and healthy skepticism, has drawn attention by an out put of reportage-style records of her observations of the immediate environment.
As her contribution in the CGP´s project Start-up, she has prepared an exhibition called Přihořívá /Getting Warmer, focusing on the theme of shelters and hideouts, in terms of both primary and figurative imaginary meanings. Part of the artist´s experimental probes are interactively conceived sound boxes drawing the spectators “into the game”.
